Hunting does take a lot of skill to consistently perform but being in the right place at the right time (aka luck) plays a huge role too. In fishing I do not allow bananas in the boat (I recently heard that they are a well-known jinx and once when my dad brought one we got skunked) but I find it helpful in hunting not to have superstitions. You just never know what will happen. While pheasant hunting this weekend we walked one shelterbelt just for kicks that we had never seen a pheasant in, just rabbits. Well whaddyaknow a rooster gets up and I missed him twice. When we got to the end three more roosters busted out. Lesson learned the hard way: always be ready.
